OMV and ADNOC to create USD 60+ bn global polyolefins champion

Signed agreement foresees strategic combination of Borealis and Borouge under the newly created company Borouge Group International, set to become world’s fourth largest polyolefins company.

We completed our new 16,000 t ReOil® plant in the Schwechat refinery near Vienna – our innovative chemical recycling technology processes used plastics that would otherwise end up in landfill or incinerators.

OMV has been producing SAF from used cooking oil since 2022. We made the final decision in 2024 to invest in sustainable fuels in the Petrobrazi refinery in Romania and started construction in February 2025.

Neptun Deep
 

The largest offshore gas development in the EU, the Neptun Deep project in Romania, is on schedule and on budget. The mobile drilling unit, Transocean Barents, arrived in the Black Sea in 2024, and drilling started in March 2025.

Renewable power projects

OMV, through OMV Petrom, has established a robust pipeline of renewable energy projects in Romania. OMV Petrom has already secured around 2.4 TWh p.a. of prospective power production by 2030.
